As with other plants, cannabis is vulnerable to contamination by air, water, and soil pollutants. Cannabis is particularly susceptible as it easily absorbs and stores these contaminants. Heavy metals (e.g., arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead) have been detected in plants and can cause serious harm to the human body. Simply growing cannabis indoors does not eliminate this hazard as these dangerous materials can be contained in pesticides, fertilizers, and soil.
Arsenic ≤ 10 ppm
Cadmium ≤ 4 ppm
Mercury ≤ 2 ppm
